Frequently Asked Questions

  • Cedar trees are a symbol of strength and restoration. They weather storms, stand tall through the years, and offer a peaceful scent; they are resilient. Canyons are places of unique beauty, formed by erosion and time.

That’s what JoAnn wanted to create: A place where strength and beauty come together.

A place where you can slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect through muscle work and relaxation.

    • Two Locations, One Mission – Whether you prefer the quiet of our Petersburg Cottage or the convenience of the Lubbock Gym Location, you’ll experience the same level of thoughtful care.

    • Intuitive Touch – JoAnn’s experience and training have taught her how to listen with her hands, adapting each session to exactly what your body needs in that moment.

    • Trauma-Informed Care – Your boundaries will always be honored. No exceptions.

  • Nope! While Zach’s Club members get 10% off any 60min or 90min massages, non-members are always welcome at our Lubbock location. Just schedule your session directly on the Lubbock Location Page.

  • At your first visit, we’ll start with a brief intake interview to learn about your health history and therapeutic goals. Your therapist will then leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level and get settled under the linen. The massage is customized to your needs, whether you are here for deep tissue work, general relaxation, or targeted therapy. If you have any questions about how your specific session will go, don’t be afraid to ask!

  • You are encouraged to undress only to the level you feel the most comfortable and able to relax. For reference, most clients either fully undress or undress to just their underwear, but our goal is for you to feel safe and comfortable. Whether you choose to remain fully clothed or disrobe completely, you can still receive a relaxing massage!

  • Massage should never be unbearably painful. Some techniques like deep tissue or neuromuscular therapy may cause mild discomfort as we work through the tension, but your therapist will always adjust pressure based on your feedback. Communication is key for you to get the full benefits of the massage. If you become uncomfortable because the pressure is too much, speak up!

  • That depends on your goals! For general wellness and relaxation, every 4-6 weeks may be perfect. For stress relief or chronic tension, weekly or even biweekly sessions are often recommended. We are happy to learn about your goals for massage and create a plan that is carefully tailored to meet your needs, lifestyle, and budget.

  • Currently, we accept cash and card!

  • Gratuity is never expected but always appreciated. If you feel your therapist went above and beyond, a typical tip is 15-20% of the service price. Some clients choose to tip in cash or add it during checkout. But we want to reiterate that gratuity is up to your discretion and is never an expectation.

  • We use high quality lotions, oils, and/or massage gels to reduce friction and nourish the skin. You can also choose to add therapeutic grade essential oils or full spectrum CBD oil for extra benefits like muscle relief, relaxation, or inflammation support.

  • Yes, of course! This is your time; we want you to feel comfortable. Some clients prefer to talk, while others enjoy complete quiet. Either way, we will follow your lead. We may also briefly check in about pressure and comfort during the session.

  • That’s totally fine! And it happens all the time. Falling asleep just means your body and nervous system feel relaxed, which is a good sign the massage is working.

  • Yes, within reason! If the massage has already started, and you feel as though an add-on or service difference (Swedish massage vs. deep tissue, etc.) would be beneficial, just ask the massage therapist! Some options may not be doable (such as increasing time if there is a scheduling conflict), but we will do our best to accommodate your needs and preferences!

  • Drink plenty of water and try to take it as easy as you can that day, especially if your massage involved a lot of deep tissue or therapeutic work. Some soreness is normal the next day, similar to how it feels after a good workout. Let us know if anything feels unusual.

  • Yes, we can come to you! However, because of the additional time and travel required, pricing may vary. Contact JoAnn directly at the Cedar Canyon phone number to discuss pricing and scheduling.

  • Absolutely! Just reach out and we’ll get you set up with a physical gift certificate. Need us to mail it for you? Pay online or over the phone and we will gladly send it via USPS!

  • Life happens. We kindly ask for 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule to avoid any possible late cancellation fees. This allows us to offer your time slot to someone else. If you’re feeling unwell, we’d rather you rest—just let us know as soon as you can.

  • Simple! Book online by clicking on the location page of your choosing or call or text JoAnn directly at (806) 983-4264.
